Not by fear and oppression
But through eyes with spirals

Have supported humans forever
For shelter, building,
or keeping us warm and safe
For food and medicine
they purify the air we breathe
For their wisdom
For spreading their energy
They’ve been there, done that
All along
And only just recently
Our clever scientists discovered
That they have feelings, like us
They support each other, like us
They form bonds, like us
They need sun, food and water,
Just like us
We can trust them
with our symbols,
with our hopes and fears
In connecting earth and sky
They’re great teachers!
